THE BARREL IS A LOCAL WINE AND WHISKEY RESTAURANT ROOTED IN TRADITION AND COMMUNITY. A NOD TO TIMES PAST WHEN CONCEPTS LIKE COMMUNITY, HONORING THE LAND AND CELEBRATING WHEN ARTISANS MATTERED. WITH A DEDICATION TO EXCEPTIONAL HOSPITALITY, EXTENSIVE WINE AND WHISKEY OFFERINGS PAIRED WITH FOOD THAT PROMISES TO AWAKEN THE SENSES, AND A COMMITMENT TO USING THE BEST PRODUCT AVAILABLE. CAITLYN JOHNSON

GENERAL MANAGER

CAITLYN IS A LONG TIME TEXAS NATIVE AND INVOLVED LOCAL COMMUNITY LEADER. PRIOR TO TAKING THE REINS AT THE BARREL, SHE WAS THE GENERAL MANAGER OF THE BARTONVILLE STORE AND JETER'S MEAT SHOP.

BEFORE HER CAREER OF RUNNING RESTAURANTS, CAITLYN WORKED FOR NEARLY A DECADE IN THE MEDICAL FIELD AS A FACILITY/ OPERATIONS MANAGER OPERATING LOCAL EMERGENCY ROOMS. 

WHEN CAITLYN IS NOT AT THE BARREL, SHE ENJOYS SPENDING HER TIME WITH HER HUSBAND AND LOCAL FIREFIGHTER, SAM, AND THEIR DAUGHTER HADLEY.

JOHNATHON PAULEY

EXECUTIVE CHEF

17 YEAR VETERAN CHEF PAULEY IS A DFW NATIVE AND A GRADUATE OF LE CORDON BLEU CULINARY SCHOOL. PAULEY HAS OPENED SEVERAL RESTAURANTS IN DALLAS SUCH AS CLARK FOOD AND WINE, WATER GRILL, AND MOST RECENTLY, J2 STEAKHOUSE. PAULEY HAS ALSO CONSULTED FOR RESTAURANTS SUCH AS LA LA LAND, KA THAI, AND CIELO

WHEN HE’S NOT IN THE RESTAURANT CHEF PAULEY RUNS A RABBITRY ON HIS RANCH IN KRUM, TX WITH HIS WIFE ANDREA, THE MOTHER OF HIS TWO SONS SHAWN AND LUKE.

BLAKE SMITH

BEVERAGE MANAGER/ KING OF COCKTAILS

PRIOR TO JOINING THE BARREL, BLAKE WAS THE GENERAL MANAGER OF SALERNOS IN HIGHLAND VILLAGE FOR THE PAST 3 AND HALF YEARS. BLAKE MOVED TO TEXAS FROM SHREVEPORT, LA IN 2018.

IN SHREVEPORT, BLAKE MANAGED HIGH END RESTURANT’S CHIANTI AND BELLA FRESCA. BLAKE IS A RENOWNED BARTENDER/ MIXOLOGIST HAVING HIS DRINKS FEATURED IN BOTH LOCAL, STATE AND NATIONAL PUBLICATIONS.

WHEN HE’S NOT IN THE RESTAURANT, BLAKE ENJOYS WORKING OUT, MUSIC, EATING, AND DRINKING WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
